With their new EP “Acoustic Adventures” Catapults show their most emotional side. Normally playing as a 4-piece punk band, Joost (Vox) & Maurice (Guitar) take the listeners on an acoustic adventure in 5 songs that let the band appear in a completely new guise.
After their last single release “Drawers” (together with the Canadian Youth Fountain), Catapults went back to Limetree Studios in Hildesheim in the cold days of November and recorded 4 songs of their debut album (March 2021) as acoustic versions. The idea came after the band had already performed some of their songs acoustically at the “Booze Cruise Unplugged” and received a lot of positive feedback. Stung by the idea of recording their own songs as vulnerable and emotional as possible, an EP was produced in collaboration with producer Paul Zimmermann that manages to do just that. The final track is a cover version of the song “Beach Front Property” by the American punk band Spanish Love Songs, which has been a great inspiration for the four guys from Oldenburg since day 1.
A CD-Ep of “Acoustic Adventures”, limited to 70 copies, is exclusively available in the Uncle M Shop and impresses with an exclusive, handmade design by Oldenburg artist Jeannine Twisterling. Every single CD cover was made by her in a linoleum printing process. This makes each EP an exclusive one-off.
