Buffalo Buffalo is heartbreaking and demanding at the same time. A great dynamic that culminates in a thrilling refrain. If you love the old things of The Menzingers or know the band Western Settings, you’ll be able to walk around with a blissful smile from now on.

The second song ‘The Boy Considers His Haircut’ has a bit more momentum and scores with the melancholic vocals of frontman Dylan Slocum, who also has this certain crisp in his voice, which makes various hairs on his forearm stand up on first hearing.

Also the last track ‘Hot Faucet Cold Faucet’ is enormously energetic and courageous and sums up all the above mentioned qualities perfectly. Those who like bands like Spraynard, Signals Midwest or Timeshares will love (learn) SPANISH LOVE SONGS.

“Buffalo Buffalo” is the perfect beginner to fall in love with the melancholic punk rock of SPANISH LOVE SONGS. I’m looking forward to a complete album, which hopefully will come soon. Until then this EP will run up and down.
